About Chris

Christopher Lee Holder was born May 30, 1983, in Hickory, NC to parents Tommy and Sheila Holder. Our story with Chris picks up with him in high school at East Forsyth, in Kernersville, NC. Throughout his academic career at East, Chris excelled in several extra-curricular activities, including marching band, jazz band, concert band, and swimming.

On top of his musical abilities, Chris was also a phenomenal artist. After graduating from East Forsyth in 2001, Chris went on to pursue another one of his passions: the culinary arts. Chris worked his way up to Executive Chef at a rather prestigious restaurant by the name of Chop House Grille, in High Point, NC.

When he wasn’t dazzling people with his culinary skills, Chris was playing in one of his two bands: The Road or Chance Happenings. On top of all this, Chris was thoroughly involved in his church, Sedge Garden United Methodist Church. He played in the praise band, as well as stayed active with the youth group.

Sadly, in the early morning of January 5th, Chris passed away in a car accident. Though his life was considered short, this is the life of a man that left nothing on the table and took in every moment. His life was as full as anyone could ask, and then some.
